17. A man gives 12 bananas to 4 monkeys equally. How many bananas does each monkey get?
Ans: Total number of bananas = 12
Total number of monkeys = 4
Here, we have to divide 12 bananas so that each monkey gets equal amount of bananas.
12 ÷ 4 = 3
Each monkey will get 3 bananas.

Que 19: I have 25 books. I can keep 5 books in each shelf. How many shelves do I need in my almirah ?
Sol: Total number of books = 25
Number of books I can keep in each shelf = 5
Here, we have to divide 25 books into 5
groups. 25 ÷ 5 = 5
Hence, I need 5 shelves in my almirah.

Que 21: A tailor has 56 buttons. He puts 8 buttons on one shirt. How many shirts can he make with these buttons?
Sol: Total number of buttons = 56Buttons required for one shirt = 8
Here, we have to divide 56 buttons into 8 groups.
56 ÷ 8 = 7
Hence, 7 shirts can be made with these buttons.

Que 23: A squirrel jumps 3 steps at a time. How many jumps will it take to cover 27 steps?
Ans: Total number of steps = 27
Number of steps squirrel jumps at a time = 3
Here, we have to divide 27 steps by 3 steps
27 ÷ 3 = 9
Hence, It will take 9 jumps for a squirrel to cover 27 steps.

Que 24: Anu takes 4 minutes to make one chapati. How many chapatis will she make in 32 minutes?
Ans: Total time Anu has = 32 minutes
Time required to make one chapati = 4 minutes
Here, divide 32 minutes by 4 minutes
32 ÷ 4 = 8
Hence, Anu will make 8 chapatis in 32 minutes.
